Francine Huot

Francine Huot was born in Château-Richer, a village  which has long inspired painters. Facing Orleans Island with the Laurentian Mountains behind it, Château-Richer has a special cachet. Lovely old estates line « Le Chemin du Roi » or the King’s Highway. In this remarkable setting, Francine’s parents encouraged her to study, play piano, draw and learn different handicrafts.  Later, she obtained a Bachelor’s degree in Nursing and a Diploma in drawing Haute Couture  fashion models.

While raising her sons, her dream of becoming a painter began to come true. She started drawing and painting on different types of paper and studied with some of the best painters in the province of Québec. She developped a personal way  of painting watercolors. Her works were exhibited in different galleries and she became very well-known among artists and  collectors. Having painted full time for many years, in 2000 she introduced her first acrylics. Inspired by her technique with watercolors, her energetic brushtrokes and mix of vibrant colors make her paintings unique and personal. Still-lifes, flowers, and landscapes are her favourite subjects.
