(Artist’s statement)
Through my passion for painting, I’ve developed a personal style that some would qualify as primitive and symbolic.
The main themes of my paintings are love, joy and the different emotions experienced during the stages of life. In addition, the essence of the symbolism in my work emerges from my everyday life, my dreams and memories of my childhood. Regardless of the symbolic sense, one thing remains; it is a great pleasure for me to share my work with the observer, so that he can view it from the perception of his own memories, references and experiences.
To emphasize the expressive qualities of my characters, I apply oil paint in a paste form with brushes or with heteroclite tools such as nails or trowels. These spontaneous techniques allow me to more completely follow the intuitive emotions of the shapes and colours that slowly build up on the canvas.
