Mario Bouchard

Mario Bouchard was born in 1951 in Charlevoix, Quebec where he grew up and still lives. At a very young age he discovered a fabulous world which would take form on paper, with a simple pencil guided by an inexperienced, but promising child’s hand.  Attracted to the fine arts and unchallenged by his school work, he worked to develop his natural talent which was so satisfying to him.  In his teenage years, when he had enough money, he experimented with a new medium:  oil paint.  Many years later in 1986, he ended a career in administration to devote himself entirely to his art.

Self-taught, he has evolved in and personalized his technique, getting his inspiration from masters such as Turner and Maderson, and also from the picturesque landscapes of his county.  Whatever the season, he searches entire regions looking for the perfect, magical moment, which will be perpetuated on his canvas.  In his artistic process, he looks for a subject, which he observes with his mind and contemplates with his creative spirit in order to seize the harmony in the scene and to be able to transmit it to his viewer.

Mario Bouchard’s style can be distinguished by its purity: a tribute to nature’s perfection, a poem dedicated to life’s beauty.
