From the age of 9, Lemieu (Jean Lemieux) began to attend the “École des Beaux-Arts” on Saturdays”.
After completing a Bachelor's degree in Graphic Communication at Université Laval, in Quebec City, he taught illustration at the University's school of Visual Arts. At this time, he also started doing silk-screen printing, a field in which he produced over a period of 15 years, more than 200 personal editions, interpretative work for about 50 artists and special editions for many organisations.
Since 1997, he has devoted himself uniquely to water colour and to oil painting in which he explores constantly the play of colour which highlights the luminosity of his work.
